We've compiled a list of questions that you may have (or may not have thought of yet) in order to help you better understand how The Film Jar fits into your wedding day. We'd love to hear your feedback about these questions or if you had any more that you would like answered. Just click the button at the bottom of this post and send us your questions!
What's the process?
First, we like to get to know you as a couple. This helps us create an authentic film that truly represents who you are and your story. We will meet again before your wedding day to cover all details. This allows us to plan and have an organized vision. After filming your wedding day, we will begin the process of meticulously editing your film.
We'd be happy to meet with you and walk you through a wedding film and show you a behind-the-scenes look at how we plan and what we are thinking when working on wedding films.
How "visible" are you at our wedding?
We take a discreet approach to filming your wedding. It's important to us to be as 'invisible' as possible while still getting beautiful shots. We often have couples and their families tell us that they were so impressed with what we created, especially since they don't remember seeing us during the ceremony and reception.
Do you do same day edits?
No. We believe that staging our filming and rushing the editing process does not do justice to your wedding investment. You have planned your wedding day and have put so much time, energy, and money into all of the details. We believe your wedding film deserves more than a few hours of editing. Furthermore, we don’t want to risk missing something truly memorable because we are focused on editing instead of filming.
Editing your film is creative process. We spend HOURS and HOURS organizing footage, syncing audio, choosing the right shots, and color correcting. It's important to us to give you more than a few hours of our time. Just as your photographer needs time to make ready your images, we need time to create a beautiful film that can be cherished for generations to come.
While we understand that the idea of letting guests see your video on the day of your wedding is exciting, we believe the audience watching 5, 10, or 50 years from now is more important. When you share this film with your future family and friends, you can be sure that the proper time, attention, and detail has been put into perfectly capturing your story
How will my video be delivered?
We always host your wedding film online for you to share. In addition, you may receive your wedding film on DVD, Blu-ray, or a digital version on a flash drive.
Can you use any song?
Music selection comes down to what is legal. We take great care in choosing music that fits your style and your story. We have to use music that we are able to obtain a license for. Not all videographers choose to do this, however, we believe in doing things the right way.
Do you require a deposit and contract?
We require both to hold your date for only you. This protects both us and you.
How far will you travel?
We will travel anywhere you will. If you have the event outside of the Quincy area, we do ask that you cover our travel expense.
Do you like working with other wedding vendors, like my photographer?
Of course! We have many friends in the wedding industry who even refer us to their clients. We are happy to work with anyone you have hired. We believe that all vendors are involved to make your day the best it can be.
Do you offer wedding photography along with the video?
No. For The Film Jar, your wedding film is our priority. We do however, know some great photographers in the area that we would recommend.
